Found what I think is a British Enfield sniper at a local gunshop yesterday. It is a No4 Mark 1/2, but is not marked T. It does have the British issue scope mounts, a complete 1943 British scope set up and the wooden cheek piece on a full length stock (its not sporterized like the L42A1's. Were all the of the original guns marked with a T??? It does have an A or AV serial number if that matters...
Thanks,
Kenny
Not all got marked with the T. If you dig around you will see that the T was added in the field shops starting in '43 I think. Also most of the Savage rifles had pads added by H&H in war time and 5 groove barrels post war. Lots of interesting things about the #4 history.

Serial number is A above 0075T if that helps...

Nice original scopes are worth 1500- 2500

"...No. 4 Mark 1/2..." Nope. 'T's' were converted standard Mk I rifles that shot better than average. A 1/2 just had the trigger on the receiver vs the trigger guard.

I like those pictures, easy on the eyes. So are the rifles.

Looks like you have an Indian built/rebuild rifle, has the serial number been filled off the left side of the butt socket? This is a dead give away as well as the new serial # being stamped on the front ring of the receiver.

The numbers on the receiver ring is why I thought is was an Indian reman or replacement.
