Does anyone have a tried and true way to clean the old established dirt from M10 scabbards and other "duck" / canvass material?
I want to avoid shrinkage.

Don't. It's called "patina". Collectors pay a lot of money for dirt and rust. :icon_lol:
Many's the item that has lost value because it's been 'cleaned'. Just use a soft bush to keep any more crud/dust from accumulating on it.
I once 'washed' a WWII web sling. Turns out the only thing holding it together was the crud. :eusa_wall:

if i just cant have it any other way..i will wash them with a product called "Simple Green" and then i just spray it with the proiduct until it is soaked and then just wash it out under the kitchen sprayer...usually doesnt hurt a thing...but you sure are taking a chance..

I saw an M10 canvas cover that had been cleaned that looked nice, but was about an inch short after it dried.
