The local gunshop has a moncular they just got in. It is marked Circle Aiming MI NC FJA 1945 EK Co. What is it and what is it worth? Best guesses are welcome.

Not a clue as to what it is, nor do I see EK CO, in any of the photos. E.K. Co. was Eastman Kodak Company, Rochester, NY. F.J. A. is the acceptance stamp standing for Frank J. Atwood, commander of the Rochester procurement district. Optics were an Ordnance Dept. procurement responsibility.

Slight angle of the monocular prevents seeing the E.K.Co. it is below the NC. Try this picture....it is there look below the NC and you will see the E.K. I am aware of who FJA was have several Colt M1911A1's with FJA stamped on them. So I know this is something that was procurred for the military.

I was at the Lakeland, Fl gunshow this weekend. While there I found a Technical Manual on a Circle, Aiming, M1. It shows this monocular as part of a aiming device for artillery.

I am aware of who FJA was have several Colt M1911A1's with FJA stamped on them. So I know this is something that was procurred for the military.

If you have pictures of Colt 1911A1's with FJA stamped on them, please post them. Col. Frank J. Atwood was the commanding officer of the Rochester Ordnance District, and Colts were made in the Springfield Ordnance District.

Excuse me, Johnny P. I carried one of these for a lot of years. Before I visited this site, I wasn't much concerned if it was a M1911 or an M1911A1, or for that matter who made it. We only cared that they worked. Sometimes I have these brain farts and misspeak. They were all Colt's to us back then.
