Mmmh G3 with Hensoldt, i liked it for the fast shot. Accuracy was well at distances up to 500metres.

Hal O' has put a lot of work into that rack of harware. Kudo's and the high five to him.
Gunner if you find a box of ZK55's you yell loud and clear to the rest of us.

Gunner, where are you in Bavaria??
I was stationed in Augsburg for a couple of years and traveled about Bavaria while I was there.
Bavaria, land of the best beer on earth! Damn good food too.
I used to spend quite a bit of time in the basement of Frankonia Jagd in Munich. Was back in 1983 to 1985. Much to drool over during those days. Got a nice C96 mauser and a VoPo S/42 luger from them.
The problem is that these fools are in the business of SELLING CATALOGUES and you can't see what they have UNLESS you buy their catalogue.
In typical Euro fashion they won't knowingly be OVERSOLD either.
My German is still good enough to peruse the website in "SchweitzerTuetsch" and the other has an English option.HOWEVER the message is BUY OUR CATLAOGUE at a grotesque price and then see what,if anything,we have that might interest you..NO thank you, nein danke !
Waffen Frankonia in Wuerzburg was the place when I lived in "Der Vaterland"(Zwischen Bendorf und Neuwied am Rhein circa 1977-1978)My then fiancee's father was originally from Wuerzburg and knew Herr Hoffmann the founder of Waffen Frankonia very well.He lived in Bad Kissingen and was a MD/Arzt and had a lot of patients who were growing FRANKENWEIN and they always gave Gustl lots of free samples. He and I used to get all snockered up"tasting" various vintages and his wife and my fiancee were NOT amused.I bought the NICEST Persian Artillery P.08 you ever saw from Frankonia too.Old Gustl arranged it with Herr Hoffmann and it is the ONLY one I have ever seen that had ALL THREE matching mags and stock etc.Dumb dumb me for ever having sold it.Just like my 2nd Model FG-42 with everything INCLUDING the Luftwaffe guy's HELMET in size 62.I could practically RETIRE on that rig now.mind you a Swedish guy paid me US$25K for it in 1978 US Dollars so I didn't cry all that much.

Frankonia Jagd in Munchen; it's been 23 years since I went there. Is the street called Brienner Strasse? Anyway, that was a nice store and I bought my brother a beautiful hunting horn while there. I wonder if they still sell waffen and who can buy them? B
Hi Hal,
Augsburg is a nice city, i live in the near in a small town called Kaufbeuren, about 50 kilometres to the south of Augsburg.
Hi John,
short before the auction there is catalogue for free on the internet and after there is one with the not sold items. Close to Würzburg lives my aunt at a place called Ochsenfurt.
Hi Bruce,
the Frankonia is a nice shop for us shooters. It s in the Maximiliansplatz now. We have around 2 millions of sportshooters over here.
I wish you all a very merry Christmas and ahappy and healthy new year!
Best regards

At the time (1985) there wasn't a problem, I filled out the ATF forms, got approval, and then hand carried the guns through customs at JFK, who didn't seem to give a flip what I had!
From what I understand though, ATF tightened up considerably on milsurps shortly after.....although anything with a civilian proof mark could generally get approval.
I carried the P-08, a C 96 and a CZ75 back with me. Currently still only have the CZ.
