I am just starting to learn about bayonets and collect a few of them that were manufactured for rifles that I own. Recently, I acquired a M1 Carbine bayonet in like new condition. The bayonet is parkerized, with a leather grip. On the metal frame between the blade and handle, it is stamped USM4 Camillus. The scabbard is leather with stiching and rivets. It also has small metal plates on each side of the scabbard to re-enforce the bayonet's tip area. The scabbard is also stamped with Camillus USA on its back side.

Can anyone tell me what I have here ? Is it genuine or a reproduction ? Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

Reproduction made by Camillus in the 90s.

Pictures are always helpful to answer what is it type of questions. I've attached a link which will help you determine what you have.

That scabbard is not "issue" for any M4 bayo, sounds like a M3 knife scabbard. May be part of a repro set I suppose.
