Does anyone have knowledge of leather scope covers for the 330/M73B1 that were marked 330 on the inside of the strap. Did the military use them or were they strickly commercial? If not, it makes one wonder why if Weaver had the covers available the ord dept went to so much trouble to procure some from another source. Thanks to all.

Stoeger Shooter's Bible for 1942 lists the Weaver 330C scope and also shows that the leather lens covers were available for $1.00 per set.

This was if you ordered from Stoeger. Weaver was in the scope business. I doubt that Stoeger bought the lens covers from Weaver but that is just speculation.

Thanks. Have seen leather covers for other weavers that were of the same construction. I know that weaver later sold the plastic covers. You are probably right because surely the Gov. would have ordered them along with the scope if they were available from Weaver.
