Would anyone care to post about their experience purchasing a M1D or M1C from CMP? Condition? metal parts? Wood? etc?

Thanks:

Picked up an M-1C at the South store back in February and could not be happier with it. It was a rack grade with a TE of 2 and MW 2.5 and it also has its original finnish but remember I was able to hand pick it. I have looked at the M-1Ds several times and there are nice ones there as well but for the kind of money you will pay I wold have to see what I was buying.

I picked up a rack grade M1C in March at the South store. It had a nice stock set (HRA) and the metal had all been refinished. There were some real ugly rack grades. I had a new in the wrap 1952 SA barrel that I put on it and it shoots as well as it looks! If you want a real nice one without having to hand pick I would recommend a service grade. Virtually all the M1C service grades we looked at had new barrels, had been refinished and had like new wood. But they were also $3,000.
