Mortar shells and 250 round ammo cans were one use for them. You'll find them listed in the SNLs as part of the equipment for mortars and .30 cal. MGs.I've got two, both different colors, tan and OD.Saw onein a junk shop one time with a Boy Scout troop number on it,wonder how many cans of Beenie Weenies you could tote in one of them? LOL

Thanks for the info, I was in the Army for many Years and never saw a bag like that, I don't remember where I got the bag, but I've had it for a long time and it looks
exactly like the Pic's You posted, same Olive Green color, Same rope ties used, and about the same condition or a little better, I don't think it has ever been used.
Thanks again

When I first saw this bag, I wondered if it was used to carry a few cans of G. I. Beer once in awhile ?? But haveing been there ,done that, I'm quite sure that it was.
Thanks for the Info, I now know what it was used for.
