After a little searching I found the use of this object. Can anyone offer a value, or the rarity of such an item?? It is in very nice (appears unused) condition.

Just a bit of info,that's part of the M1910 web gear for use on the web Garrison Belt by officers and NCOs for carrying the M1902 saber.



GARRISON BELT, MODEL OF 1910, FOR NONCOMISSIONED STAFF OFFICER AND FIRST SERGEANT.

Specifications.--The garrison belt for noncomissioned staff officer and first sergeant shall be woven from a yarn not larger than 10-3 ply and shall be 42 inches long and 2 inches wide. Each end shal be incased in a suitable metallic end piece bearing a double hook integrally woven on the back of the belt. These eyelets to be inserted, or adjustment loops be woven, substantially 1 5/8 inches apart, extending at right angles to the length of the belt with thier openings one-half inch from the top and bottom selvages of the belt. A metallic keeper three-eighths inch wide and so fashioned as to snugly embrace the double thickness of the belt where it is looped through the slot of the buckle or the buckle clasp shall be provided. Each belt to have a woven tabular piece beneath the sling attachment in addition. This tabular piece to be attached to the body of the belt by means of two loops fitting over the body of the belt and sliding on same. the saber sling accompanying this belt shall have two straps 1 inch in width of woven fabric harmonious in color and texture with the belt, one strap having a drop of 14 1/2 inches, not including the snap hook, and the other strap having a drop of 8 1/2 inches, not including the snap hook. Each strap at is lower end shall have an adjustable retaining buckle by means of which the strap may be lengthened or shortened as desired. These two straps shall be fastened to the loop of the hook attachment. The end pieces of the belt shall be fixed thereon by means of three metallic eyelets set in each end piece and the adjustment buckle at the lower end of each strap of the saber sling shall be fixed on the strap by means of two metallic eyelets. These eyelets shall be inserted without the intentional cutting of threads and smoothly clinched, and the metallic pieces through which they pass must sustain a dead load of not less than 100 pounds without injury to or displacement of the eyelets. All metal trimmings shall be of brass or bronze, of dull-finished bronze color of the same shade as that prescribed for the buttons of the service uniform of the United States Army.

Value?Not a clue.The belt it goes on is pretty pricey.Rarity?Not a common item but a limited market.
