I just purchased a very nice, arsenal refinished, 03A4. Seller stated that he had received the rifle from his neighbor when her father passed away, approximately 20 years ago. Seller had kept it stored away and never fired it until recently. After firing two rounds, he decided the .30-06 recoil was a little more than he wanted. I purchased it, missing the scope and rings, and set out to find a scope. I found me a Weaver 330 and original rings, removed all the cosmoline, cleaned her up and fired it for the first time yesterday. I am very impressed with the results with foreign, suprlus M2 at 100 yds. I can't wait to work up some handloads.

What do you think?

Great score! Nice looking A4, and a shooter to boot!

Very, very cool! Look at the stack of scope mount shims under the front of the mount! Are the screws to the mount staked on after rebuild? CC

Yes, Col. Colt, the front mount screw is staked. Very heavily staked I might add. An added plus that I didn't mention in my original post is that all marked parts are Remington, including the stock.
