Have a beautiful second year 356 Winchester Model 94 in 356 Win.. The only other rifle made in this caliber was a Marlin 336 in a small run. Midway and the usual places don't have any ammo, if they have any ammo at all. Someone mentioned on a internet site that it is now not being manufactured anymore, discontinued. Anyone know if this is true? Couldn't find 356 brass the last time I looked in Midway, I know it is made seasonally in past years but I think it may be time to scounge up some brass and hanload. Have twenty rounds of 250 grain and twenty of 200grain, so that is forty to start with. Any information or suggestions for this orphan collector.
Custom loaders may be your only choice.

Give them a call, they might have an idea:

Several firms, such as Buffalo Arms, make obsolete cases from readily available ones, and either sell the cases for reloading, or load and sell ammo. Their stuff is usually good, and not as expensive as you might think. If there are gun shows in your area, you might find dealers who specialize on oddball ammo, chances are you can find some. Just keep looking. Watch out for reloads, these guys are good at hiding reloads in the boxes.
I have 40 rnds. If interested let me know. rlynn@centurytel.net
I saw a box of 200 grain Winchester 356 Winchester today at the local gun store.
Did you try the Sportsmans Guide? They list it as being in stock.
