I notice my firing pin floats and have seen springs for sale. I have been told there was no spring with these so I am confused. Mine is an 1884 and was used by MGM movies. If so where do I get one. Thanks,,Rick B

The firing pin return spring was eliminated in June 1878.

rick, just keep an eye on the pin that it is floating at all times, easy to remove and clean. ---charles

Tanks for the information and will make sure it is good.

Just picked up my first batch of 100 rounds from a buddy. I supplied him with enough for him and I and he reloaded them for me. 65 gr of FFG with 405 bullet. Rick B

Assuming it's the first time at the range with your rifle, just a heads up that it will shoot 10" - 12" high at 100yds using the battle sight.
