Hi guys

I've located a 1884 Springfield Trapdoor and need some advice on whether it looks correct or not. The rifle appears to be original finish with a nice even patina over the majority of the metal and wood.

The rifle is on hold and is priced at $750..Any help is appreciated.

It appears to be correct and intact. The price also appears about right for the rifle's condition. Do go to Frasca's site and compare his offerings and prices to this rifle.

The only part that I can see which is wrong is the hammer screw, which is from a .50-70, but the wood leaves a lot to be desired for what is, after all, the most frequently-encountered model of TD. I think you can do better for the same money, or a lot better for a little more.

Nice case colors. Cant tell what sling is on it. Correct slings are expensive. How's the bore? Any cracks in stock? Start at $350 and go from there.

The case coloring is gorgeous and the bore is good. The stock isn't cracked and other than a lot of dings, dents, and some gouges appears unsanded. The sling is old, but don't know enough about them to tell if it is a repro or original?

I passed on it, as would like better wood..
