Is there any data on the Model 70 rifles actually used in combat such as serial numbers and locations. IIRC, some were used during the Guadalcanal campaign?

Were any Winchester rifles fielded with hunting type scopes since the rifle has Redfield Senior bases? When did the Senior bases come out?

The article states the rifles were used for match shooting after the war. I was guessing that's where it acquired it's scope base.
