Stag Arms

Friend of my son has been looking to buy a "varmit" rifle. It had to be a semi auto. To-day he got a Stag Arms rifle, all I know is its a 'black' rifle of some sort. Whats the skinny on this brand, especially as far as intended use and quality, He paid 900, used.
Any info appreciated, thanks.

Great guns but needs a free floated upper and an adj. 2 stage trigger for bolt gun accuracy

Been around several all but the last one were nice out off the box. The last new one I was around was three weeks ago. My friend bought it brand new. Lots of problems first 200 rounds. Bolt lock up was way to tight. Kept it wet and it finally broke in. Seems fine now but it should have been caught during final inspection, as right out of the box one could tell it had an issue.

I personally like LMT but Stag would probably tie for my second choice.

I picked up an upper in 6.8SPCII made by Stag Arms and it shoots very well and quality wise seems to be up there with the better brands. I only have about 200 rounds through it but so far no troubles.
