I need to order some parts from numrich. They list a repro 03 /03A3 sling. Has anyone bought one and if so what is your opinion good or bad. Thanks in advance

If all you need is a slinglike object to hang on a rifle they'll do. Other than that they're the same cheap excuses you find on ebay, etc. Cheap leather, cheap fittings......... If a usable sling is desired you'll have to spring for a Turner, Tam, Brown, etc.

I bought three repro WW II type 1907 slings with the typical too thin metal (not brass) claws. Like all of their type, the Inside Bend of each claw was too acute and wasn't even able to retain the claws in the sling holes. They kept slipping out. I took an original WWI brass claw and saw that the Shaft of a Krag cleaning rod had the same diameter and would fit inside of the hook perfectly. Other cleaning rods were too thick. I then re-formed the soft hooks or claws to fit around the Krag cleaning rod and angled each of them correctly. Now, although the claws are still of rather soft and too thin metal, they actually DO stay in the holes of the sling and make the slings serviceable.

You can send Turner Slings the original hardware of a 1907 sling, and they'll put together a new one for you. Call them first to make arrangements and quote a price. That's what I'm going to do.
