View Full Version : Would you correct a 1960,s rrad depot rehab shipped from dcm?
Or leave it alone. it has stamped SC trigger guard and stamped bands ,straight RRAD stock, park finish 9/42 Rem barrel and Remington 1903 rec. with mod type unfluted site base. I am thinking leave it alone its a real rebuild DCM rifle.

Leave it as it is. People will still be able to tell it's a restored rebuild. And I would rather have one as an original rebuild, than a restored rebuild anyday.
Yes will leave it alone as RRAD ,Red river arsenal depot. I have a Winchester M1 Garand that is all so a papered DCM RRAD rifle 6-66 mixmaster with correct RRAD stamped stock and P in a square box. I decided not to correct it allso. For its a real Goverment overhaul correct as a mixmaster. Why spend a $1000 for parts to make a fake WW2 Winchester era fake. The RRAD M1 has , Sa bolt, SA op-rod ,LMR barrel,SA trigger group,RRAD replacement stock. My hats off to the woman and men that rebuilt them down in Texas in the middle 60's.
Making things "correct" is a fools errand. People don't realize they're damaging history by insisting on having all the parts share a brand name.
Leave it alone.
I also agree, leave it as it is. With the documents, it will tell the" true story" in the next century!
