Well I cant find a .308 Garand .I have RL-15 and 175gr smk to reload with.
anyone use RL-15 for there Garand?
I don't have any experience with RL15 but some of my shooting buddies use in .308. The only powder I use in my Garands is 4895....
I will not chance damage to any one of my Garands.

Yes I use it for my Garand, but it's a 308--the govt used RL-15 for it's match loading before. Mine shoots great with the J4 Nosler-not called J4 anymore, but you can buy them in 250 rd boxes--seems my book doesn't like RL-15 for that heavy of a bullet--remember the Garand is not for heavy loads-S/F

CMP sells their Special Grade M1 in .308, you could also check with The Garand Guy, DGR or Fulton Armory.

can you shoot 175gr smk in a Garand chambered .308 ?

Yes, but be careful with RL-15 from Alliant. In hot weather the nitroglycerine seems to bleed out causing erratic ignition and extreme spread in velocities. Hornady had this problem and switched powders in the manufacturing process.

Stick with the IMR4895, make sure case length is CONSISTENT, primers seated low. Wouldn't give a load as you'll need to find what best for the rifle.
Are these for general shooting or match loading? May want to remove crimp for easier repriming.
