Just Picked up 100 rounds of 303 ammo Head stamped A80 7,7 R1M3Z. Any information/comments about manufacture, characteristics and performance would be appreciated. I'd like to use it in a #4 Enfield. Thanks in advance.

It's South African surplus. While I have never used it myself, others report sastisfactory results. If memory serves it's Berdan primed.

It is non corrosive, berdan primed ammunition of high quality. Its the last (that I know of) 303 ammo made
for service use and its accuracy is superb.

So good is this brass that I reload it with Tula berdan primers and its lasts far far longer than anything sold today
for 303 Brit reloading. I had a few thousand of these SA cases from ammo I shot so for me, it is worth reloading
them as they are indeed high quality cases and have never had a head separation with them. I do try to neck size
as much as possible to get max life out of cases . Hope this helps

PS: I am on the 1000 yd line using these berdan primed cases and my match load of Varget and .312 BTHP bullets.
No.4Mk1 Long Branch with PH 5C sights: It holds mighty fine at this distance.

Actually RFI still produces .303 ball but it isn't sold for non government use. The South African is excellent ammunition. I've found PP boxer cases to be the best for repeated full length resizing.

Just curious, what did you have to give for the 100 rounds?
