View Full Version : Valuing an Aussy bayonet?
I got an Aussy 07 pattern Bayonet. I think it is April 1918 (I know it was a WW1 date) on the blade. 90% bluing. 95% on the scabbard, well marked 44Mangrovite. 95% condition frog with some tarnish to the rivets.
I paid $120. I never, I mean NEVER pay more than $60 for a common commonwealth bayonet but I felt this one was worth it. How do you guys think I did? I kind of feel like I did god, but not great.
Don't have it with me right now, it is still packed up in my gunshow bin. Sorry for no pic and the foggy info.
John Sukey, where art tho?

That seems to be the going price on Ebay.

I haven't checked Egay lately but can't even remember the last time I saw one listed in this condition. I think I was pretty well on target at what I paid for it. Will list my other Aussy on Egay probably tonight. I was not interested in getting an Aussy bayonet but damn, When you find a good one, you should probably pick it up.
I just checked egay and apparently I STOLE IT!! Prices started at $150 and went up to $373 (no bidders on any of those). The one I found with actual bids was rough and had no frog at $96with lots of time left. I am comfortable with it at $120 now and pretty sure the seller had much less than that into it.

Good for you. Every once in awhile we get a bargin.
I listed a 10 '16 Brit bayonet in a 43 dated Aussy scabbard will see what that tells me when the auction ends.
