Hi Guys
I have an 03 serial # 1306129 with a c type stock and it came with an ohare rear sight cover and a smooth aluminium buttplate with a trapdoor , it was given to me 15 + years ago the bolt seems incredibly smooth and tight more like a match gun than service rifle any info would be appreciated Thanks

1903 #1306129 is listed in the SRS records as being one of approx 30 1903 rifles shipped to NY State ARS, Govs Island on 5-4-33. It is not shown to have been a 1903A1. For many rifles the listing show them as being a 1903A1, National Match, etc. For you rifle is just shows it to be a 1903. FWIW

I'm surprised it has an aluminum butt plate . . . Are you sure? (Touch it with a magnet?)

Could be someone merely polished it up???

I know that Sedgely made some parts before or during WWII made of pot metal or maybe aluminum. Any "circled S" on the buttplate on the inside?
