View Full Version : BAR Belt?
Hi, can anyone ID this belt it's 6 pocket, 3 per side marked "D. M. Shoe 1942" on back? I've had it over 20 years. Any idea what it's worth? Regards, Mike

Looks like a BAR belt to me. It's in super good shape for a '42 version. A local surplus store had a bunch of old BAR belts that laid around the place for quite a while, so I can't say what they're worth. They are an interesting artifiact. I did a little checking and D.M. Shoe Co. was a manufacturer of web gear during WW II.

Hi, over on the CMP Forum I was told it's real. I've had it for years in a box with some WW I (?) lanyards. I was thinking of trying to sell them as I have no need for them. Originally I got the belt to carry M1A magazines, but never used. Thanks for the comment,Regards, Mike

I used one in RVN 4 mags per pouch. I could somewhat "rest" my forearm across it while still keeping my CAR pointed and ready even in the denser stuff..
Every little bit helps. We travelled light, but stuff gets pretty heavy after a while.

Def a bar belt. Usually go for about $100. If looking to sell, may be interested as looking for an original bar belt to go with my 1918a2
