"Bomb" Steve Sheinkin. The Manhattan Project, the workers, the scientists, the spies, the Norwegian good guy sabotage of heavy water production.....a much faster read than other books of the same ground.
"The Monuments Men" Robert M. Edsel. WWII and racing to rescue Art seized by the Nazis.
Much ground covered here.
Ralph Peters has two recent books of the Civil War. "Cain at Gettysburg" and the other of Grant, when he first commands the Eastern armies. He emulates what key figures in history might have said and how they did act. Politics and commanders.
He also wrote "The War After Armageddon" Commanders and politics in the worst way.
Religion in the extreme affecting command. Thank God it is fiction...isn't it?
Enjoy and learn, Grasshopper.
Thanks, Paul
