Somewhere, a guy by the name of Bannerman is ROTFLHAO!
The sights look like Springfield to me. I think it is a Springfield barrelled action in a mauser stock. I wonder if he's ever shot it like that?

Claude, at first I thought it had a Mauser front sight, but after looking more carefully, I think you're right.
I have a Mauser with an 03A3 barrel. (I actually have two) but not that thing. It's a little weird.
It could be a fun toy if it was well bedded into that stock. It would be a lot cuter if a different handguard was crafted, too. But if I had a shot at that for a good price I'd put the barrelled action back into a proper stock and see what I could get for the Mauser stock.
The stock is worth little, I think it has those finger groove added. Few Mausers had them and its a later stock with that butt plate. I can not really ID it, but its not German WWII.
I belong to the Mossberg collectors club and they once showed a pic of a Moss. 22 that had a Mauser bayo lug and band added to it and there was much speculation that maybe Moss. submitted it to the US as a training rifle. I had to inform them that only Mausers used that style bayo lug----unless those Sweds were trying to sell to the Germans during the war! Strange thing show up in the gun field!!
None of you guys have heard of the Schmidt-Korona 03 kurz? :icon_rolleyes:

back in 1973 my FIL was making a sporter out of a M95 mauser using an aftermarket stock, knowing that I collected 03s he took one of his A3 and inletted the 03 into the M95 stock , worked pretty good. He made it into a full length stock sporter, still have it somewhere in the gun room. Always heard that the 03 was somewhat a copy of the Mauser.
