It appears the U.S.S. West Point had quite the interesting history and I'd venture a guess that you have a great piece of that history now!

SA/JFC dates to the mid-1930s, towards the end of J.F. Coyle's career at Springfield Armory.

Could have been one of the stocks sent to Springfield, along with other parts, in the late 1920s.
