I recently acquired 2 nice M4 bayonets made by Imperial. The lettering "IMPERIAL" on one of them is 1/8" high and on the other it is noticibly shorter, around 5/64". They both look very authentic. Can anyone tell me if one might be earlier/later than the other or are they just a result of different stamping dies? Is one rarer than the other an/d or any difference in value? Any info greatly appreciated.

Pictures will help in trying to ID your bayonets. In the meantime here’s a picture from one of Gary Cunningham’s articles on the M4’s that may show what your referring too.

Here is a link to Gary’s page that contains the articles on the different M4’s. There’s a lot of information in those articles.
