View Full Version : How rare are Springfield WWI grips?
Anyone know where I might find a set of grips for a 70% condition all original (except grips) 1915 Springfield 1911?
Thank You I will check it out

Here's a set on this beater, if you got the gun cheap enough you could part it out and keep the grips

Those aren't Springfield grips. Springfields are unique in that they have eleven rows of checkering between the diamonds.
Thanks MPD1978 I appreciate the lead

Thanks PhillipM for your reply. Who do you think the manufacture is? They don't look like colt, I count 12 rows of checkering.

I counted 13 but could be wrong. I think they are late 1911 Colt grips.

Possibly Remington UMC
Thanks Duane that is likely. I am pulling out books, pistols and spare grip sets to do some closer comparisons. I especially have to refresh my memory on the late Colt grips Phillip M mentioned. More to follow
Is anyone beside me having a problem with the instant email notification not working?
