$102. is very cheap for that style ring. For the real deal expect to pay 2.5 to 4x that amount. Someone caught a real bargain!:grommit:

I was watching the set he is talking about, they weren't original GI rings though. That's a tall order for Original GI park'd, they are few and far between and had been hanging around the $385.00 mark, but the last correct set I saw sale went for $425.00.
I haven't nailed it down yet, but someone is making reproductions now.

I have a set of 7/8" GI "vertical" parkarized rings and screws that are correct. What are they bringing on the open market today? I got them over 20 years ago in a box of GI parts from a WWII armorer.

Chuck, I personally don't really know what military scope these rings correctly fit . My question was what are they worth. If you can provide information how and when they were used on what U.S. military scope/rifle combination, please do.

Well, For an Alaskan (M73), M81 or M82 the correct way to install one piece rings is to unscrew the eyepiece and slide both rings on from the rear so they are behind the W&E turrets.

If you must install the front ring in front of the W&E turret just pop the sunshade off.

M84''s require the two part rings (quote - unquote -period end-of-story)

Note: the caption in the picture misidentifys the Lyman Alaskan (M73) scope on the lower rifle as an M73B1 (Weaver 330C)

RCK, the original specifications for the A4 rifle approved two (2)Telescopic sights as well as any additional sights that could be delivered which met the requirements as to weight, length, magification etc. The Lyman Alaskan and Weaver 330C were both approved. Some 2000 sets of the one piece parkerized 7/8" Redfield rings were delivered in anticipation of deliveries of the Lyman Scopes. In mid 43 Lyman was issued an order for some 36,000 Alaskans whicj would have been used to finish the A4 production and equip the first M1C's. Lyman's lens subcontractor unfortunately was busy with higher priority war work and never delivered Alaskans in time for A4 production. Some were delivered toeard the end of the war for the M1C.

With the advent of the Vintage Sniper matches the value of these rings has gone up. I would suggest $200. to $275 per set.

just pop it off...you make that sound so easy lol..
we dont agree how the AK is mounted,. thats ok. i can install the once piece rings on a standard AK.
but only the redfield and Lyman 2 piece rings can be used with the M84.
