German G-41-W cartridge follower delimma

I recently bought a group of G-41-W parts to get a blued cartridge follower. Now that I have the parts in hand, & have prepared to install the blued follower, I find that the chromed one in the gun looks to be correct and original. Chromed one is milled steel, blued one is sheetmetal, have different but interchangable springs. No number or proofing on either. Gun serials only 300 apart.

Any one ever seen a chromed follower in a G-41-W????

Probably not chrome but rather polished steel. However I have never had the oppertuity to examine a G-41-W or M.
