I've been trying to learn for the last few years and I watch a lot of auctions as a way to increase my understanding. It isn't often that I see a rifle that I think is all correct. Now that this one is complete I'll ask the experts: Is there anything wrong with this example of a SC?

Is that bolt body square safety lug correct as issued?

and no...I didn't buy it :)

lot of money for a rebuild...incorrect bolt, repro screws in the rear swivel, safety sleeve is a replacement as well.
id have to see the insides of the rifle to tell more..
bolt should be blued, X marked, swepted safety lug.

Good eye on the screws! Didn't notice those.

The bolt was made by Commercial Controls (marked "CC") and is a replacement.
The bolt sleeve was made by Bay Products (marked "B.P.") and is a replacement.
The safety lock appears to be a Remington, but that's a guess.
The butt swivel has been refinished, i.e., replaced, and installed with incorrect screws.
The two-bolt stock is not contemporary with the rifle's serial number and is a replacement.
The Gotham Pressed Steel front sight cover is a replacement.
The trigger guard is not contemporary with the rifle's serial number. It should be a small bow.

Other than what's wrong with it, the rifle is correct. :)

Hope this helps. :hello:
