local shop selling an H&R M1D did that happen?

The local shop is selling an M1D made by H&R. Serial #576645 , barrel date 01- 52 . Has a DOD cartouche and a cheek pad with just MRT in ink an no scope or mount . Is asking 1600 . Was H&R used in the M1D configuration? Please let me know ASAP as I have left a 50 dollar deposit to hold her but thanks for all your help.

CMP sent me an H&R M1D, nice rifle, I sent it back for a Springfield receiver...so they exist!

1600 is high IMHO a brand new barrel is 650.00 + M1 rifle and cheek pad that's what your buying!
