View Full Version : Straight sided stock??
OK, I've seen some references to a "straight sided stock" here, but haven't seen any explanation about what this is exactly. I've googled it but haven't found anything. So what is this? A local gunshop has a 1903 with a "C" stock that is really flat on the sides. Is this what you're talking about? Thanks. Greg

Here's two "comparative" pictures of a straight wall stock and a later one. I think you can see the differences.

Thanks, Fred. Below is a little closer look.
The rifle with the WES stamp is my "pet" M1903, a Springfield, #1,205,868, which I bought as a sporter about 1972. Over the years, I slowly restored it. It had several stocks before I found this one, which also included a relatively rare "straight" profile handguard with fixturing slot.
