If the year 1918 is stamped on the blade, the bayonet was made in 1918. WWI ended in November 1918, and while it is most likely that serial numbered bayonet was made in the summer of 1918, without provenance, there is no way to tell if it made it Europe then.

antiqueoutings.com/m1905 bayonet website has an article written by Tom Crandall. He states the sn range for a 1918 M1905 bayonet is: 779916 - 1040319

WWI was in 1918 not WWII. I know you know that!

bayonet is less than 1000 numbers off of my 1903 rifle

Although I know very well that bayonets and rifles were not issued with the same serial numbers, I still think it would be neat to have a bayonet with the same serial number.

Has anyone ever achieved that coincidence, that you know of?

Range is a tad wider at both ends. There is overlap with 1919.
