USMC Stippled Butt Plate

I got this from a fellow Marine, he searched for this for a long time. I realize these can be faked, so I figured I would ask the experts on here about their thoughts on this.

Looks OK to me. Who's to say it IS fake. How do they know ?? I wouldn't give it a second thought. I bought one from a guy who thought it was "ruined". "Why would anyone do that to a perfectly good buttplate?"

iv seen them real nice and even, like the guy took his time, and thought about it, and ive seen some that are real all over the place, like the town drunk did it,...
