Picked up my 1903 yesterday- the one we had talked about on here earlier that J.B. had come across at the CMP a few years ago. I am very happy to have it, and even found a few surprises.
The barrel, which we talked about on the other thread fits the serial number range to a T, but also has the A stamp below the date, indicating several possibilities. The barrel definitely was not original to that rifle however- or was taken off, because there are plumber's table marks on it. It also had some numbers/letters imprinted near the marks as well.
When I removed the rear butt plate I also found an "F" imprinted into the wood... beside that the only marks I noticed were a punch mark under the cut off, and a punch mark on the bolt- which has been with the rifle a long time as they match color perfectly. The sights are Remington, and appear newer.
