Any recommendations for wrapping "00" or "#4", for use in upcoming MI muzzloader season??
Think I can use old 12ga. hull, and make a paper sleeve to sit in it and then wrap the end with dental floss.
Trying to make it easier to load.
Thanks for responses.
A MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEw YEar to ALL!
You know that ain't a half bad idea.Carry it a little farther, use a piece of tubing the proper size put the cushion wad in,then the paper shot cartridge, then the top wad.Or a thin card wad then shot.
try making a shot cup from a piece of paper bag. this thread pertains to bird shot, but it may work for you. http://www.muzzleloadingforum.com/fusionbb/showtopic.php?tid/283536/post/1323620/hl/%22+shot+loads+%22/fromsearch/1/#1323620

I've tried to link threads from that forum before, never could get them to work.
I use my New Englander with the pre-lube TC bullets and they work just fine. killed a few deer that way!
JBinIll, try this, traditional muzzleloading forms, the forms are great just like this place.

How about using aluminum foil? Its what some in the N-SSA use to wrap the round ball for smoothie shooting. You could put some lube in the foil and then the buckshot and ram it down as a cartridge.
