I have one, forgot where or when i got it, but it is marked with Belgian crest and dated 45?
a friend put it on a model 98 that had a total wipe out 8MM barrel on it and got lucky cause it shoots quite well
who and what were these made for, I know that brazil had mausers chambered for 30-06 but who else?

Colombia and Peru. Some of the 7.65x53's were simply rechambered, making them sort of a .303-'06, since the bore/groove are .303/.312. The 7mm's were rebored and rechambered, and some 30-06 barrels were made from scratch. I have a Colombian M1950 that is a hammer.

How long is your barrel?

it is identical in length and shape of a standard K98, even has the german designed sight and collar on it and front sight, debated long and hard about doing it, but the original 8mm was just not there any more and it also had import marks on it, I also (and some may disagree) labeled the new barrel with 30-06 stamped into the steel, did not want anyone in the future trying to shoot a 8mm in it. So, right after the Belgian logo and marks it says 30-06
and it DO SHOOT!

Post war Belgian Mausers used those barrels. They were made by FN. Springfield Sporters sold them 25 years ago for
$8. I still have a new one in the wrap.
