Serial Number Check 1898 Krag

Christmas came early, after looking for quite some time but always finding cutdown/bubba versions. I have found a 1898 Krag, serial number 270321. Any info would be appreciated.

Does it have a cartouche stamping on the left side of stock? I believe it should have a 1900 date.
