1915 Springfield Armory 1911 w/ questions

Hello Sirs,
I picked up two 1911's at a local pawn shop today. This SA and a 1913 Colt. The best I can tell this SA was made in 1915. The barrel is not original, it's a "Flannery". I have not totally stripped the pistol down yet to see if/how the small parts are marked.

The obvious is that the pistol was not well taken care of. My main attraction to the pistol is the grips. Of course one could speculate as to what the notches were cut for but it sure would have been nice to know who put them in there to get the facts on them.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. It's always nice to know an approximate value. I know that all of the small parts will be a factor in the actual value but just a rough estimate would be appreciated.

I'm guessing $1,500 +/- $200. From the photos it appears that the slide stop is a Springfield however the thumb safety and hammer aren't. A correct WW1 Springfield magazine can be had for $300 - $400 while the barrel (if or when found) could probably be had for $400 - $500. Original Springfield small parts can be hard to find and when you do find them they commend a premium. This all adds into the value. The figures above are my opinion, I'm sure others will chime in with their opinions as well.

The grips do not appear to me to be Springfield.

Yes John C is pretty close assuming most of the internals are correct and considering the obvious hammer and grips and safety. It would be interesting to know what barrel was in the Colt you picked up if it was WW1 vintage or not.

Most of the blemishes are not too terrible but there are some deep dings and probably some pitting under the grips maybe.

Are you interested in selling it to make a few dollars I would buy it only because I have a barrel and grips and a hammer too and you could keep the grips that are on it. I also have a few magazines that would be correct for it.

If you want to spend several hundred dollars I could clean it up pretty good and re hot rust blue it for you too.

Thank you for the informations Sirs. The barrel in the 1913 Colt is also a "Flannery", ironically. The Colt was refinished by RIA. But, I do have a Springfield barrel in another early Colt so I'll switch them out for now.
