View Full Version : Might be a bargan Singer
First I have no connection with this auction and can't afford to bid myself. But this might be a chance for a bargain, if it is real;

They also have a North American

I doubt that there will be any bargains. Word gets around quickly. This has been brought up before.

That Singer has been known for years. Something fishy with the $15,000 to $25,000 estimate.

'comes with Singer letter of authentication'. excuse my ignorance, but is that possible....?

Sure. It's on the Internet. It's bound to be true. :)
That all depends on what the seller considers to be a Singer letter of authentication. It's his description.

The description also notes that the pistol has walnut stocks.

All reasons you should verify the originality of the pistol for yourself rather than taking the seller's word.

Those pictures certainly don't help. Of course anyone serious enough to be a player on this, would want to inspect in hand.
The Singer sold for $65k and the North American for $31k. The Singer's grips were the correct material and not walnut, but I have no idea if they were the correct Singer grips.

Anyone know if lot #148 sold, and if so, for how much?

The reason I ask is that I own U47 and it is not the one that was in the auction catalog.
It did sell, but I wasn't paying attention to the price, sorry.
Scott, it sold for $2500. I show the Singer selling for 69K. and the US&S selling for 14K

it sold for $3000. http://morphyauctions.hibid.com/catalog/39242/january-11th-2014-gun-sale--01-?cat=0&sort=1&hide=0&qs=0&view=0&aView=0&q=148&selCat=0&pos=13994075#13994075
You need to include the buyer's commission paid to the auction house.
The Singer went for $78,000 and the Serial # 10 !911 first day manufactured gun went for $96,000. I bought those two. will put up photos when I receive them from Morphys.
