I haven't seen this Remington 03...

yet, but my grapevine says there is a Remington M1903, serial 3142347, barrel marked 3-39 with a "star". Again I haven't seen it yet and the gun shop proprietor was not able to describe the "star" or its location other than on the barrel, on the telephone.

Could this be USGI-built? It is prior to production start-up (Harrison). Could the barrel have been in the bin from last production? No description of stock or stock markings at this time.

Another fragment of info on 3142347----S.A. 3-39 barrel with flaming bomb, scant stock, left side of stock marked RA-P. Asking $875.00

Barrel has been replaced...could be arsenal or by others. If serviceable with good bore and good over all condition then I'd say $700 tops.
