1941A1 Leather Scope Caps?

Does anyone know if the Marines used special leather caps (as seen on 1903A4's) on their M1941A1's?

If so, anyone have an image? I'm looking to get some made. These screw in things are a PITA.

I use a big rubber band I made out of a small (16") bicycle inner tube. Not real "authentic" looking but very functional and very cheap. The metal scope caps aren't hard for me to use but they're very easy to lose! In my limited research I did when I put my faux A1 together, I never saw any pictures of leather caps. Others with more expertise will know more.

The have metal lense caps with a very fine threading, both front and rear.
