Was bored today so I broke out the camera and a few of the family, instead of cluttering up the forums heres a link to each one in their own albums.

1. 1909 Rock Island, J6 Bolt, 1909 marked sling with replacement strap, 1909 RIA Barrel, MW about 2, Pebble S sight cover, all milled parts, SA 1918 era stock with eagle head inspector stamp, high hump handguard. It also has what I believe to be its original finish, atleast on the receiver, barrel, bands and cutoff, unmarked upper band, 3043 Rack Number, Early Dished sight knobs.

I recognize rifle #3 Captain, I was the guy bidding against you for it on gunbroker! Glad to see it found a nice home, and it definitely has all the makings of a USMC rifle.

my apologies, I didnt mean to steal that one away from you, I normally dont go after things if another board member does. Looking at it at the time, I figured if theres one example of a marine rifle to have that one is a prime candidate.

No worries at all, it got my attention due to the same attributes, it is a a very fine example of a Marine M1903 and the price was very fair. MY next goal is get one with an early Sedgley USMC barrel, I would very much like to add one of those to the collection.

Your rifles are very nice by the way!

I do have a question, what type of sling is that on rifle #4?

Good luck, early sedgley barrels areant that easy to find, id like to find one as well, also a 40 dated SA barrel, thank you, the 2 marine rifles both have Kerr Slings, the one the last rifle has had seen a little harsher life, but I think it reflects the condition of the rifle.

Around 2008, my friend was at a small gun show in GA and saw a Springfield M1903 s/n 825055 with a SA 3-18 bbl date, stock was marked TENN. He called me and asked if I was interested as the price was $400, I told him to buy it for me. He said the seller told him this rifle came from the CMP.

I have since found another 1903 stock marked DAL and with a faint TENN in the same location
plus a white paint markings on the butt

Nice, I like how clear that one is marked, I wonder if there would be any chance of finding the roster of guns on the ship.
