I would greatly appreciate a SRS check on these. 1896 SRC 78262 and 1899 C 352856
Thanks,

Neither number shows.
For the 1899, 352850 and 352997 are the closest.
For the 1896, it is unclear, nothing really close, and the closest numbers are rifles, though it is very clear that carbines are intermingled - what 5MF calls a "border area". If your carbine is in the original 30" stock, with correct 96C rear sight, and shows uniform age of parts, color. patina, etc., it is very probably perfectly OK, but if it has an obvious mixture (differing colors, degree of wear) of parts, especially if in a late 32" stock, there might be reason for some concern.
