Inland trigger housing odd feature?

Here's another question on a carbine I recently got. The trigger housing is an Inland type 3 that has a perfectly smooth finish, so smooth that it almost looks like it was buffed before being parkerized, but yet the logo is so crisp it does not appear to have been beadblasted like a reparked part. The real oddity is the beveled part on the bottom left at the edge of the mag catch slot. I've never seen this before. Any opinions?

It very well could be one that was slightly damaged at the factory and rounded off to be able to use it. As long as it didn't affect the functioning of the housing then it would be good to go. It could also have had some damage from use in the field and was worked on during a rebuild. So may possibilities as to when and where.

I think it has been wheel polished and re-parked. The logo strike was very deep to begin with and the polishing over it was light. Note the many rounded edges that should be mill square, and the slightly different surface profile and color behind the logo compared to in front of the logo. I don't know why the bevel at the mag catch - maybe it was damaged in that area and the guy just wanted to make it prettier. JMHO
