I have this leather sling marked M.D.C. over H&R:eusa_wall: correction H.&P. 1918 please help me and provide any info on the maker and if this was used on a m1903 or whatever. Any info and possible value, both low and high (I heard it referred to as buying value and selling value) Also any reference sight to look at it there are any would help. BTW the pink color in the letters is some of my granddaughters sidewalk chalk

If you look closer it is "H.&P." Hewes & Potter, Boston MA. I believe the letters above that are inspector initials. Can't help much on price, but not a whole lot given condition.

bet your right about the "H.&P.", I can see now how I made that mistake.

yes i realize it not worth a whole lot, just wondering what though.

Decent M1907 slings from WWI-WWII go in the $100-150 range, so govern accordingly.

Looking at the condition of your sling I would suggest a selling price of $45 - $75. That is what I've sold them for at gunshows. Nicer ones are more as Rick stated. The visible markings will certainly add to the value, so go with with $75 or start higher. You can always lower the price for a sure sale if need be.

That is the type of sling that is past being serviceable as a sling, but makes a great addition to a U.S. military rifle all the way up into the 1940/41 time period. There are far more rifles looking for slings than slings.
