thought you gents might be interested in findings:

Chrony speeds on Greek 303 ammo from an Enfield Jungle Carbine:

2300, 2285, 2295, 2310, 2318

Privi Partizan 180 gr softpoint:

2105, 2115, 2098, 2122, 2095

altitude 9300 ft. Temp about 50 degrees

Group size with Greek for 3 shots was just over 2". Group size for PP ammo was around 8" I am not happy with the PP stuff. Oh well, better to have mediocre ammo instead of no ammo. I only have one bandolier of Greek left. Bought about 1000 rds many years ago, now it is about gone. Booo Hoooo!

For FMJ I have found both Remington 174 gr FMJ and S&B 180 gr FMJ to shoot well in my rifles. Remington 180 gr SPCL shoots well for me as well. Of course your mileage may vary. The only Privi I used grouped OK but shot quite low at the battle sight setting so I don't use it anymore either. Both the Remington and S&B FMJ stuff runs about $18.00 - $22.00 when I can find it. The Remington hunting ammo hits me up for about $30.00 or more these days, again when its available.

For what it's worth I've heard that Brit surplus rifle with some wear on them sometimes don't shoot boat tail bullets accurately, never done that (my No 4 Mk 2 was in the factory wrap when I got it) so I wouldn't know myself.

Least you got some reloadable brass out of the deal. I can't say much for PRVI's cheap 30cal or their .311 150gr FMJ bullets either.

Aren't the 180 SP Privi's boat tail bullets? That might explain the opened groups. Many Enfields won't stabilize boat tails due to previous bore/throat wear.
