Walther PP, When was it made?

I have a Walther PP serial number 349044P that has Nazi markings, barrel and slide have eagle over a N and on the other side it has a banner over WaA 359 on the slide and frame. Anybody tell me when it was made and value at 80%

late 1943-------maybe, probably in 1944, & well into 44 at that...........

Probably about mid 1944.

Made after April 1940. It was made for the military as it has the eagle over the WaA359 proof stamp. A bit of a guess here but with a serial number in the 340000P range I would say 1942 to 1943. Value on an 80% PP is in the $300 range. It was the most common one made and almost all of them went to the military during WW2.

Not at home so can't check my references, but since PP production went into the 400K range your pistol was made mid/late 44.

IAW Dieter Marschall's book WaA359 was first used in 1941, and your gun is with in the 1941 range ( ending at 397300P for the .32 ACP in 1941 ). Walther did not always build the PPs and PPKs in direct sequence. So don't know. Value, every thing WWII is increasing in value, every one wants a piece of the Great Generation. Here in AZ, I have seen Waffenant marked PP's in less than 80 per-cent go for over 500 dollars, so don't know, pictures would help. I make no claims of the above information being correct, it is what is listed in my references, if some one has more valid info, merry Christmas, however I have always found Marshall's information accurate. The last PP that is listed is SN 397000p in April 1945, last PPK is 433521A in 1945.

Not sure I follow your information.You indicate the 1941 range ended at 397300P, but a few sentences later you list the last PP as serial number 397000P in April 1945.

The list I have, with a notation that the information was from Dieter H. Marschall, lists 1941 PP production as 2153XXP to 2202XXP. 1944 production is listed as 2889XXP to 3747XXP.

All I can say in my defense is that blocks of numbers were pulled and construed at different times , not in sequence . I get a headache comparing the difference sources. When there is a conflict, the reason for the conflict has to be searched for, no simple note at the bottom of the page.
