I posted it on the Garand forum but got no response. Is anyone familiar with the green canvas sling constructed like the M1907 sling? It has large eyelets for the hooks, and none I have seen are marked. Don't know if they are real, or just a fantasy item.
A picture would help people ID it, myself I have never heard of such a sling. I am far from a sling expert however!

Experimental military BAR sling . Don't think it ever made it out of the trials stage. Pre WW2 . Might be early post-WW1 .

Thanks. Billy Pyle, The Gas Trap Garand, had never seen one, so maybe that explains it.

It's not in Ballou's book either. Hayes Otoupalik sold me mine and told me about them.

Those eyelets sure look like the weakpoint.

They really don't look like they would stay hooked either.
The two I have seen looked new, so the question about whether they were fantasy or not.
