Would a logwood stain with a linseed finish be correct for a 1913 RIA in otherwise near totally original state?
The seller told me the wood was dry when he got it so linseeded it but the colour of the wood is light brown, not red tint at all now.
I have logwood stained a couple SA stocks before,and one repro Boyd;s stock I completely contour etc corrected, but not sure if RIA was logwood and linseed (I presume RIA used linseed like SA,since Tung Oil was not used till WW2).
I have a pound of genuine logwood powder remaining... should do it I would think :) Just don't want to do it unless RIA definitely "logwooded" their stocks. Brophy mentions it, but cannot recall if he was SA specific (my copy of Brophy is SOMEWHERE after moving house)
